Erik ten Hag believes Marcus Rashford can score 20 goals in a Premier League season

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has claimed that Marcus Rashford is capable of scoring at least 20 goals in a single Premier League season.

Rashford may have flopped last season, but the England international this season is quickly returning to the world-beater he once was in the 2019/2020 season, where he scored 17 goals in 31 Premier League matches.

The 25-year-old has managed 12 goals in all competitions, eight goals more than he managed in all competitions last season.

Although he has managed only four goals in 14 Premier League matches this season, Erik ten Hag is convinced the Manchester United academy graduate is capable of scoring 20 league goals a season.

Speaking ahead of the Nottingham Forest clash, the Dutchman said: “I don’t want to pin myself on a number [of goals], but I said from the start, I think he [Marcus Rashford] is capable to score 20 goals in the Premier League only so I am convinced about that.”

Rashford, who scored a brilliant solo goal against Burnley last week in the Carabao Cup, has a chance to add to his tally when Man United host Nottingham at Old Trafford tonight.

Manchester United won their last two competitive games against Fulham and Burnley and are anxious to make it three wins on a bounce.
