Manchester United Women attacking midfielder Ella Toone has promised United fans that they will come back ‘hungrier than ever’ next season.
Man United Women went trophyless this season despite having a strong start in the FA Women’s Super League and other domestic competitions.

Marc Skinner’s side were one of the title challengers midway through the season but a dip in form saw them thwart their target to remain in the top-three in a bid to achieve what could be their first ever UEFA Women Champions League qualification.
Relentless Manchester City Women knocked Man United Women off their perch after a decent run of form plus United’s dip in form, and Toone’s side finished 4th in the league.

Their last game of the season, against Chelsea Women, reflected their season, having gone ahead twice and led at half-time against The Blues but lost the game 4-2 in the second half, which was a much-needed win for Chelsea to lift the title ahead of Arsenal Women by a single point.
Speaking after the defeat, Ella Toone said on her Twitter handle: “What a journey it’s been. The highs, the lows. Loved every minute of playing for this club and team. We’ll be back hungrier than ever. GGMU”
Like last season, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, played all of the 22 WSL matches and scored 7 goals and provided 8 assists.
The England international also scored one goal in 5 FA WSL Cup matches.

Manchester United Women skipper, Katie Zelem, also reacted to how they ended their season after their last game of the season ended in defeat.
“Another season comes to an end – a rollercoaster of highs and lows but we gave it absolutely everything,” Zelem said on Twitter.
“Thank you for all the support across the season, we really appreciate it.”
