Donny van de Beek has named his three best friends at Manchester United, although two of them left the club last summer.
Van de Beek may not be a regular starter at Man United, but that hasn’t stopped him from creating good connections with some of his team-mates.
The Dutchman named Luke Shaw as his best friend but also said he had good connections with Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
Matic left United as a free agent last summer to reunite with his former boss Jose Mourinho at AS Roma while Mata sealed a free move to Galatasaray.
When asked to name his best friend at Old Trafford, Van de Beek said: “My best friend at United? That’s a good question — I have a few guys who I’m good with, I’m good with Luke [Shaw], for example, but a few other guys as well who I do some stuff outside of football with.
“Luke is one of the guys I have a good connection with. A few other guys as well: in the past we had Nemanja Matic or Juan Mata, we go out for dinner sometimes or for lunch after training. I think it’s good to do that to relax sometimes.”
The former Ajax midfielder, who joined Manchester United three seasons ago, believes the fans is his favourite thing about the Old Trafford because they are everywhere.
“So many things because it’s such a big club but we have so many fans, so I would say the fans,” Van de Beek added.
“Everywhere we go, there are so many fans all over the world. think the fans have a big impact on the club.”
