David de Gea hails 'unbelievable' Axel Tuanzebe after Man United 2-1 win at PSG

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has heaped praise on ‘unbelievable’ Axel Tuanzebe after the defender impressed against PSG.

Man United fetched out a well-deserved 2-1 win over the Parisians at Parc des Princes on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute to put the Reds in front. In the second half, Anthony Martial scored an own goal to put PSG back into the game.

Late in the game, Marcus Rashford scored the match-winning goal to ensure Manchester United return back to Old Trafford with a deserved win. The win at Paris becomes the first time since 2004 PSG suffered a defeat at home in the group stage of the Champions League.

The likes of Marcus Rashford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes impressed many at Man United but David de Gea has explained why Tuanzebe was unbelievable at Paris.

The 22-year-old defender last featured for the Red Devils in 2019 due to injury but marked his return with a top-class defending against the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

“He [Axel Tuanzebe] has been unbelievable today,” David de Gea, who was excellent vs PSG, told MUTV.

“He played against two of the best players in the world in Neymar and Mbappé so he did really, really well. I am really happy for him.

“He [Tuanzebe] has been in difficult moments with the injuries but now he has shown today that he is capable of playing in big games.”
