Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad that will face Chelsea this weekend after Erik ten Hag ordered him to train alone.
Ronaldo left the pitch late in the game during Man United’s majestic 2-0 win over Spurs at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag admitted after the final whistle that Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t take permission from him before storming down the tunnel in the injury time and said he’d handle the situation on Thursday.
According to ESPN, Ten Hag has ordered Cristiano Ronaldo to train alone for the next three days, hence ruling him out of the Machester United trip to Chelsea this weekend in the Premier League.
Several reports have claimed that Ten Hag had attempted to bring Ronaldo on at the same time as Christian Eriksen but the Portugal international refused and the Dutch tactician ended up calling upon Anthony Elanga.
According to the same report, it was the former Ajax manager’s decision to freeze Ronaldo out of the Manchester United squad and the club are said to be behind their manager’s decision.
Man United’s statement said: “Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday’s game against Chelsea. The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture.”
Cristiano Ronaldo arrives at Carrington on Thursday morning after his drama on Wednesday night.
