Bruno Fernandes slams Manchester United performance after Everton draw

Bruno Fernandes has stated openly that Manchester United’s performance against Everton was ‘not good enough’ and said United should have won the game.

Man United endured yet another disappointing result at Old Trafford after they were forced to settle in a 1-1 draw against Everton.

Anthony Martial was on the end of Manchester United’s first decent chance of the game but his header was next to nothing.

Edinson Cavani also had a similar chance to get the breakthrough but his fine header was pushed out by Jordan Pickford.

Eventually, the Red Devils got the lead, thanks to a fine finish from Anthony Martial, with Bruno Fernandes providing the assist.

In the second half, Everton scored the equaliser after Andy Townsend scored from a close-range. The build-up to the goal was inspired by Fred’s error after the Brazilian failed to control the ball and was unable to stop Gray from benefiting from his error.

Bruno Fernandes would slam Manchester United for letting Everton’s counter-attack lead to the equaliser and hint that United should be winning games like this if they want to challenge for the title.

“We should win this game,” Fernandes told BBC. “We should create more chances. We should not concede that kind of goal.

“It’s not the first time and we have to look at our mistakes and see what we can do.”

Man United moved to the 2nd position in the Premier League table after the draw but Fernandes claims his side doesn’t pay attention to the table, at least at the moment.

“We don’t look at the league table at this moment but of course we should have more points,” the Man United midfielder added. “We drop points at home and we should not do that.

“These last two games at home was not good enough in the Premier League. If we want silverware at the end of the season we have to do much better.”
