Ajax forward Antony has yet again show signs that he’s keen on a move to Manchester United following his recent activity on Lisandro Martinez’s Instagram post.
Antony is reportedly pushing for his move to Man United this summer and made his concerns known when he refused to train with Ajax last week, which subsequently ruled him out of Ajax’s game against Sparta Rotterdam, although Ajax won the Eredivisie tie 1-0 without his presence.
Manchester United are expected to make an improved bid around £80million for Antony according to Daily Mail, and are also preparing an offer for PSV’s Cody Gakpo.
While negotiations are expected to start soon, Antony has been keeping a close eye on Manchester United. He and his agent watched Man United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday night and saw his former team-mate Lisandro Martinez put out a resounding performance at the back alongside Raphael Varane.
Martinez has received loads of plaudits for his top display against the Merseyside Reds and took to Instagram to reminisce on Monday’s victory, to which his former Ajax team-mate made a comment.
“#aboutlastnight This is @manchesterunited,” posted Lisandro Martinez.
And Antony replied: “Go on” along with a heart and a clapping of hands emojis.
Manchester United remain active in the ongoing transfer market and recent reports from The Athletic claim that the Red Devils are keen on signing two new forwards but are expected to settle with either Antony or Cody Gakpo if Cristiano Ronaldo stays put.
Ronaldo wants to leave Man United for a club that will partake in the Champions League this season but so far, he hasn’t agreed with any club.
