Antonio Valencia hopes Premier League midfielder joins Manchester United

Former Premier League star Antonio Valencia hopes his compatriot Moises Caicedo joins Manchester United in the future.

Man United were interested in signing Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer but no official bid was reported.

United would go on to sign free agent Christian Eriksen and Casemiro from Real Madrid. So far, the Reds seem not to be lacking in the middle of the park, having won five times in the last six games.

Caicedo was also a transfer target for Chelsea and Arsenal and is expected to make transfer headlines when the market reopens in January.

Valencia believes the Ecuador international is a humble player and hopes the 20-year-old move to a big club like Manchester United.

“Hopefully Moisés Caicedo can go to a big team in England, he is a humble boy, he was born to be great and hopefully he can come to Manchester United,” the Man United legend told La Radio Redonda.

The youngster has recently spoke about his future and the speculation that surrounded his name in the summer.

“I’ve to say thanks to Potter. Chelsea? One of the best teams in the world, nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. But I’m really happy at Brighton”, said Caicedo.

Man Utd rumours? Many links, normal… my agent was on it”.

Moises Caicedo has made six appearances in the Premier League this season so far and has one goal to his name.
